We are the problem, because we are weak. Fast track is going to pass, and it will pass without TAA. We turned TAA down in order to block the bill, and now are going to get the bill without it. Because of our actions, nothing will be done for workers displaced by this trade bill. We have failed to protect them from the deal, and in doing so we have made things worse than they would have otherwise been.
I live in a deeply red state. The people around here are afraid of liberals. Not because of what we stand for, but of our weakness. TPP isn't the first time that liberals have made things worse by trying to make them better. Indeed, what my neighbors know is that, in the end, the conservatives ALWAYS win. Those who try to stand against the torrent of darkness will only lose, and take all that stand with them down as well. They fear us, because they know that we will lose. They know that we will make things worse. They know that we cannot protect our supporters.
They fear us because we are weak.
